Hi, I’m João. I’ve been guiding travelers around Portugal for over 12 years, leading walking, cycling and hiking tours from the coast to the mountains. I specialize in bringing history to life in a relaxed, down-to-earth way, helping visitors understand Portugal through its people, stories and everyday moments.
I love exploring both our natural landscapes and our historic towns, and I try to share them with the same curiosity that made me fall in love with guiding in the first place. With a background in Languages, Literature and Cultures, I’m especially drawn to how traditions, food, music and humor shape who we are as a country.
When you travel with me, expect an easygoing mix of history, local tales, surprising details and plenty of laughs along the way. And if in the end you only remember the views and the meals you enjoyed, that’s perfectly fine. Great food and good company are two of the best ways to understand Portugal.
